The next membership meeting for Local 3725 will be held at 5:00 p.m. on November 15, 2024. Zoom links for the meeting have been sent by email to all members with an active email address on file with Local 3725. If you did not receive the email, please first check your spam/junk email folder. If after checking, you still did not receive one, you may contact a representative for the meeting information.

NOMINATIONS FOR LOCAL 3725 EXECUTIVE BOARD
As noted in the above agenda, nominations will be accepted at the meeting on November 15th. Nomination notices were mailed to every member with a current mailing address on file with AFGE. If you did not receive a notice, please notify a representative.

Qualifications for office are: be a member in good standing of this local; be a member for one year of an AFGE local, immediately preceding the closing of the nomination process; not be a member in any labor organization not affiliated with the AFL-CIO; and candidates shall not run for more than one office in the same local election;.

Any member who has signed a dues withholding form (SF 1187) accepted by a responsible officer of the local) is in good standing and eligible to nominate candidates.

A second for a nomination is not required. Self-nominations are permissible. Nominations also may be made in writing using the nomination notices that was mailed to every member.

Candidates must accept nomination at the nomination meeting or, if not in attendance, submit a written acceptance to the Election Committee by the close of nominations. A lone letter of acceptance is a self-nomination. The member making the nomination has the responsibility of informing the nominee of his or her nomination.

If a position is not contested, the sole candidate will be declared elected by acclamation. If a position is contested, an election notice with all of the necessary information will be mailed to every member who has an address on file with Local 3725.

Members ensure that your current physical mailing address and personal email is on file with AFGE. Local 3725 uses this information to keep members informed, disseminate important election materials, notices, and ballots. To update your personal information, visit the AFGE website, login to your account and edit your profile. If you have not registered previously, click on register to create your account.

Reminder membership does not continue when an employee goes out on leave without pay. Automatic dues deductions will stop when LWOP starts. Be advised that is the sole responsibility of the members to contact the local 3725 treasurer to discuss options for retaining membership before going out on LWOP.
